I was noticing that I hadn't received any robocalls calls all last week and I mentioned it to my wife. Then I ordered something on line and within an hour I got one. I figured that this is further proof the the folks who we order things from, are selling our numbers to outside parties.

Spare a thought for the nuisance callers
by Ultimate Axiom inup till now i have generally received (on average) one or two nuisance calls a day –sometimes more, sometimes none.
although retired, i was out of the house about 20% of the time, but now that i’m home 100% of the time, i haven’t received a single nuisance call since the lockdown.
is this just me, or is covid19 having a sever impact of their incomes?

Question For People Being Put Onto A Ventilator - How Is It Powered?
by Simon inimagine you or a loved one have to go onto a ventilator and are given the choice of how it should be powered.
what are people picking?.
coal or oil powered energy.
-
Pete Zahut
Yes, how a ventilator is powered is a direct and in-your-face comparison, but we shouldn't forget that all the equipment itself is oil based (plastics etc...)
I think those who support power alternatives are the first to admit that what we currently have has worked well so far and they are only too aware of the oil based sources things come from. Even so, they'd likely choose to use current power sources despite the problems that concern them because for now, that's all we have and now wouldn't be the time to switch to renewables, (which is what the original rather obvious question was).
I'd also guess, they'd be the first to recognize that although alternatives need to be found, there are more immediate concerns to focus on rather than arguing about it or trying to score easy points for ones side of an issue during a pandemic.

why did jehovah create corona virus?
by stan livedeath inwhy did jehovah create the strains of corona virus ?.
is it part of the great tribulation that is closer than ever now ?.
what if lots of his people die from it ?.

Couldn't it have been from people making bad health decisions?
Humans can spread viruses but viruses are made up of DNA and RNA which creationists believe was created by God. Humans can create vaccines from the matter that creationists believe, God created and use it to protect themselves from viruses that are using human animal or plant hosts to replicate themselves.

Plasma treatment for COVID-19
by frozen2018 insaw on the news a story about using plasma from people who have recovered from covid-19 being used to treat people who have covid-19 via transfusion.
well, if that proves to be effective, i guess it would really stink to be a jw!
maybe the governing body would decree that in instances of covid-19, and only with covid-19, the whole "no blood" thing would be ignored.
-
Pete Zahut
A JW who recovered from Covid 19 and has the antibodies as usual wouldn't be able to donate his blood to help others but thank goodness for them, accepting blood fractions with Covid19 is a conscience matter.

There are those who are pushing for alternative power alternatives even though they may currently use the existing grid for the most part. I'm sure at this time, they'd want their care facility to go with the power source that is readily available and has a proven track record because for the most part, that's all we have right now. Although they may have concerns with the long term effects and or viability of what we currently have, I'm sure they'd agree that experimenting with alternatives during a pandemic is a bad idea.
I guessing you already knew this but couldn't resist this unusual circumstance to rub someone's nose in it a little.

Sister Not Sure If She Is 144 000 or Great Crowd
by Awake at last ini haven’t posted here for years as i have now moved on and am satisfied with the choice i have made to leave watchtower.
however in light of the coronavirus and people in australia and other countries being asked to stay at home i became concerned for a witness sister who lives in melbourne alone who is 88 years old.
today i gave her a call as i don’t trust the local witnesses to care for her.

JWs love to think of Jehovah as a reader of hearts. It brings them comfort to think that no matter what, he knows their true motive and understands their human frailties.
Tell her that Jehovah undoubtedly understands how conflicted she is and undoubtedly appreciates her taking the matter seriously and being respectful enough to withhold from partaking from the emblems when she’s not all together sure.
Perhaps it’s easier for to envision living in Heaven because she learned or had that hope before becoming a JW.
Either way, he will make sure she’s there if he wants her there and she’ll get a clear message if he calls her.
I don’t believe any of this of course but these thoughts may bring comfort to someone in their 80s who does.

If You're Just Here to spread Your TDS, It's Time to Say Goodbye
by Simon inif all you want to do it deliver a constant whine of "orange man bad" then find someplace else to do.
it.
frankly, i can't be bothered with the bullshit anymore.. honestly, your politics and the whole virtue signalling woke brigade has actually started causing real deaths and was ruining life for many before that.. if you can't control your disease, then i'll do it for you.. it's not open for debate..

For those like me who had a good idea but weren't sure exactly TDS, means.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_derangement_syndrome
Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) is a term for criticism or negative reactions to United States President Donald Trump that are alleged to be irrational and have little regard towards Trump's actual positions or actions taken.[2] The term has been used by Trump supporters to discredit criticism of his actions, as a way of reframing the discussion by suggesting that his opponents are incapable of accurately perceiving the world.[3][1][4]

Repeating Jehovah Jehovah Jehovah

Inarticulate people use "cuss words" in place of the words they lack to express themselves. This isn't an option for JW's (at least while they're praying) so to make up for lack of content, they insert the word Jehovah to flesh out their prayers. Praying in front of others isn't an easy thing to do and coming up with new material each time is even worse.

JW NY and covid-19
by Gorbatchov indoes someone know how jw's in and arround ny, and the hq's are affected by covid-19?
many infected?
lock down of hq's?.

I don’t know about how the virus has effected them so far but I’m sure the folks at headquarters are patting themselves on the back for having moved out of the city before this hit. Calling it Jehovah’s Direction that they sold off the properties and moved out of the city before the virus struck and the stock market tanked.
